A blog post does not have to be a column of paragraphs. A reader who is skimming wants steps they can follow, a list they can check and answers they can open when they need them. In a Djangify shop you can add all of these by pasting a small piece of HTML into the post, or by asking an AI assistant to do it for you. These pieces are called content blocks. This article shows four of them at work, with the prompt that asks for each one.
- A content block is a named layout written in plain HTML. You need no plugin and no code skills.
- You add one by pasting it into the editor's Source code box, or by asking a connected AI assistant to add it.
- Four blocks cover most posts: Numbered Steps, Checklist, FAQ and Prompt Box.
- Two or three blocks in a post are enough. More makes the page feel busy.
What a content block is
Blog posts in Djangify are stored as HTML, and the page shows exactly what is stored. A table is a table tag. A box is a div with a class name. Each content block is a small, ready-made piece of that HTML, and the styling for it already comes with your shop and follows your theme shades.
You do not have to write the HTML yourself. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or any other AI assistant can write a block when you ask for it by name, because one skill file explains how every block is built. Since the words sit in the page itself, search engines can read every one of them.
Two ways to add a block
Pick the route that matches how you work. The switch below remembers your choice.
In the editor
- Open the postIn the admin, open the blog post where the block should go.
- Click Source codeThe button in the editor toolbar shows the raw HTML of the post.
- Paste the blockPut it between two paragraphs, never inside another tag.
- Save and lookSave the source box, save the post, then open the page.
With an AI assistant
If your AI assistant is connected to your shop through the Djangify connector, you can skip the editor. Tell it the post and the block, for example: "Go into the post about onboarding and turn the last section into a Checklist." It reads the whole post and sends the whole post back with the block added, so nothing else is lost.
Block one: Numbered Steps
Use this for anything a reader does in order. Each step gets a number, a bold title and one sentence.
- Write the postPlain paragraphs and headings are enough to start.
- Ask for the blockGive your AI the prompt below with your own text.
- Paste it inUse the Source code button and place it between paragraphs.
- Check it on your phoneOpen the page once on a small screen before you share it.
Turn the steps below into a Numbered Steps block. Give each step a bold title and one short sentence of detail. Keep my wording.
Block two: Checklist
This one suits things a reader should confirm before they move on. It sits on a panel in your main theme shade, so it stands out from the text around it.
Post checklist
- Headings in orderOne main heading, then sections below it.
- Links testedClick every link once.
- Pictures describedEvery image has a line of alt text.
- Summary writtenThree or four bullets at the end.
The ticks on this Checklist are for show. If you want readers' ticks to be remembered when they come back, the premium pack has a Saved Checklist that keeps them in the reader's own browser.
Turn the list below into a Checklist block with a short label, a title and one line of detail under each item. Use the primary theme shade for the background.
Block three: FAQ
Questions and answers that fold away until the reader opens them. Two to five questions is plenty.
Do I need to know HTML?
No. You paste what your AI gives you, or your AI adds it for you. You never have to write a tag yourself.
Can search engines read the answers?
Yes. The answers are written into the page, so they are there to be read even while they are folded away.
Turn the questions and answers below into an FAQ block. Keep each answer to two or three sentences and do not change my wording.
Block four: Prompt Box
When you want readers to copy something, such as a prompt, a command or a code, put it in a Prompt Box. The Copy button works with no setup. Every prompt on this page sits in one.
Read my blog post and suggest where a table, a checklist or a set of steps would help the reader. Tell me which block to use and why before you change anything.
Put the text below in a Prompt Box block with the label Copy this, so readers can copy it with one click.
The other fifteen blocks
These four are only a start. There are 19 free blocks in all, including comparison tables, a facts row, quotes, two-column lists, before and after panels, video, galleries and featured articles. Every one is shown working in a separate article, with a copyable prompt for each.
There is also a premium pack of seven interactive blocks. The stats bar at the top of this page and the switch in the middle of it are two of them.
- Content blocks are ready-made HTML layouts that follow your theme.
- Paste one into the Source code box, or ask a connected AI assistant to add it.
- Numbered Steps, Checklist, FAQ and Prompt Box cover most posts.
- Use two or three blocks per post and leave the rest as plain text.
